How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal of building a new house is still my topmost priority and I don't intend to change that for now because I actually need a new house for me and my family. I've lived in this deplorable thatch hut all my life. It is time to change for the better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done everything well. Sending us funds to better our lives is so commendable. To think of anything GiveDirectly is not doing well will be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. It's 10 over 10 good for me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I intend to pay saw men with a portion of my transfer to supply me with wood for my house project. After this, then I can hire masons and carpenters to commence the building project.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a new zinc house. I've been living in my current thatch house for well over 10 years after I demolished the one before it and the one before that one too. All my life, I've lived in a mud thatch house that is why I'm not shifting this goal. Hopefully in thd near future, I'll have my own modern house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly is doing extremely well by impacting our lives positively. As for what they don't do well, I can't tell because honestly I don't know anything of such.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
For my building project, I've bought zinc and nails for a start. Because of the distance from our town to the road, I'm gradually gathering the materials. Next I'm going to pay saw men to cut wood of different sizes and purpose for the house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On a cool afternoon I have just returned from the farm and met news in my town about Givedirectly transfer. I hurily took my phone and ran to a coverage area to check. It was confirmed that I have over fourty thousand Liberian Dollars. I was happy and started to dancing, and signing song in my dialect telling God and Givedirectly thank you.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I used to sleep on a mat since I never had money for matress. I could go trapping for animals as a means of survival. Many days I had to eat plam cabbage until my trape catch. Since I received my first transfer from Givedirectly, I have started to plan for a better life. I hope to start building my house and begin to plant rubber any time soon. Life is getting better with me and the family in general.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to purchase matress and I am now planing to also get few bundle of zinc to biild my new house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Being a single man who wife left because of lack of money to adhere to her needs who also dwells in a delapetated structure, I have planned to build a house with zinc on roof. With the opportunity to receive unconditional cash transfer from GiveDirectly , I will construct myself a dream house where I will never experience the leakages of my thatches roof during rainy season.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy whenever my traps catch animals because that is my only mean to received cash from the sale of animals . Having contributed to my sister food and have sent a little cash to my children twice a week from the sale of my catch , I am so joyful for the days .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been changing houses as they are delapetated over many years only because the houses are constructed with thatches on roof. And the changes of my homes for these many years have led to my spouse in Susana Klekey being separated from me thereby making it so difficult to live as a complete man . I need to contribute to my big sister Ida Bannie food to eat on a daily basis. I have no means to see and train my three children who left with their mother and these have been an impairdament to my life thereby making my life miserable.
