How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I just want to say thank you to Givedirectly for their support. My plan was to build my own house in my village, but I never had the support to accomplish my plan. I'm a farmer, I cut Palm for living, but still my income was very low, to even get food for my family used to be very difficult for me. I will have to cut Palm for people the whole day just to get money to support my family. But when givedirectly came into my village, lucky for me I was successful on the program and my life began to change. How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had a goal to build my own house for me and family to live in but finance have been the problem. Now that I have this amount of money, I am going to build my house and buy a used motorbike for commercial purpose. In this way I will be able to sustain my family when GiveDirectly had left or when the program shall have closed in my community.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does what it says it will do. GiveDirectly is not an organization that take gifts or buy things from the communities it works in like others organizations do. I have not seen anything yet that GiveDirectly is doing wrongly in its workings.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I did spend my most recent transfer on zinc and gas. I will use the zinc to cover the roof of my new house and the gas will be used to saw planks to roof the building. The house I am currently in has been and is still in deplorable condition. I am glad that GiveDirectly came to my community with this opportunity.
