How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a widow. I lost my husband over 10 years ago. I have been struggling with my eight children since then. I am also a business woman. I sell provisions. Sometimes business don't go well. The profit I make from the business could hardly sustain us. I was excited when GiveDirectly came to my town. My goal has been to build a new house. The one I live in is old. It leaks during the the rainy season. I was so happy when I received my payment. Things will now get better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It gives us unconditional cash and ask for nothing in return. That is amazing. It's a privilege to be enrolled in this program. I am so grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used some of my money to buy plank and some other building materials. I also bought a bag of rice. I have not been too well. I have been ill for some time now. Therefore I used some of my money to get some medications. I am so grateful for this golden opportunity. Hopefully, after receiving all of the transfers my life will get better.
