How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life would have been very different had I not received the transfers, I would not have managed to build a good house for myself, buying food as well as mattress and blankets for the family. In the past, I had wanted all these things but I did not have money but your financial support has made it possible for me to change my life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly do well by giving us advice on how to use the money before we receive the transfers. By doing this, they give us a picture to wisely spend the money on things that will benefit our families such as building houses, buying mattress, clothes, blankets and even fertilise as some people people would have opted to use the money on things like beer. On the other hand, there is nothing done y the organisation which is not done well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money I received to buy cement as I was building a house. I also managed to buy matters and blankets for my family. I stay with my husband and three children and had to buy a mattress and a blanket for each one of us as we were sleeping on sacks. I also bought fertilizer for the next farming season as I want to harvest a lot of crops.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
We shall use the money to reduce the poverty in my household. This means the house will be roofed with iron sheets, good window frames and cement floor. The rest will go towards some expenditures to beautify the inside the house such as good plates, pots clothes and beddings.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I like playing netball in the afternoon and that is always my happiest part of my day most of the times.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I always struggle with my sleeping place as it is not good and always having back pains since we don't have a good mattress nor good beddings. This also speaks a lot about the overall look of the house since every season we have to thatch it.
