How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, my financial status has improved. I have managed to buy a motorcycle with the transfer which has helped me in purchasing household items such as television and seats from the profits that I have been getting. I do not struggle to handle my needs since the motorcycle business has also enabled me to generate a second business. I sell onions that supplement my income too. I can only thank GiveDirecly for financial support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly implemented a good project that uplifting the living standards of many people in our village through unconditional cash transfer. The field officers were also friendly and polite which made us be free with them.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
For a long time, I have been thinking about how to get money and buy a motorcycle. When I was enrolled in the program I counted myself lucky. I managed to get the first transfer and saved a large portion of it. The second one was a blessing since I topped the amount that I had saved from the first transfer and used it to buy a motorcycle. Today, I get more income which has enabled me to easily take care of my primary and secondary needs easily. In fact, the profits have made me generate another source of income. I sell onions twice a week and do the motorcycle taxi for the rest of the day.
