Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy and surprised when I received my transfer. As my age now 72 years, I planned on building a house for myself before I die. But I never had the means of getting money to start. I have been praying harder for God to help me through someone and my prayers have been answered.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There are some improvement in my life as compared to before. Because GiveDirectly have reduced my worries. I have been thinking how to build a new house and I never had any hope of getting money. At least I'm going to fulfill my dream in getting a new place for my family and I to live. Thank you so much for bringing this program to us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought zinc with some of my money which is in saved keeping and I'm hoping of buying cement with the second transfer to start my building process. I bought food and other household items for my upkeep. I'm also saving little amount of my money to enable me pay my medical expenses for my surgery in Gbarpolu.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I do not have a house of my own and it has always been my desire to own a house. I currently live in someone's house. If I receive this cash transfer, I will buy a land to build a decent house for myself.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I usually do small contracts on a daily basis to feed myself. During the past months, I have not been securing contracts due to my health condition. Two months ago I got a contract which was able to provide food for me for about two weeks.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am in my old age and I am no longer healthy to support myself. With my current health condition, I am obliged to do hard labor jobs to be able to feed myself. I don't have anyone who is in the position to take my responsibility one hundred percent. I have been struggling to raise funds to establish a business right before my house but nobody has come to my aid.
