What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
My husband and I are planning to invest in 7 goats ($350) for our children's education. We will also buy 3 hives at a cost of $90. On a good season, each hive can earn us about $50 worth of honey. With such an income we will be able to comfortably sustain our family of 5.
What is the happiest part of your day?
After being away from home for about 2 months due to banditry attacks, my family and I were happy to come back to our land where our children could go back to school.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We live in a banditry prone zone. When we last had an attack about ten months ago, my husband and I relocated together with our children and livestock. We only came back a few months ago after the government confirmed safety. Having lived in constant fear of attacks, we have sold most of our livestock at a throw away price — to reduce the chances of becoming targets. Consequently, without livestock we will not be in a position to give our 3 children quality education.
