How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Having a zinc roof over my head will be one of my biggest accomplishments because I couldn't do this without GiveDirectly. I have been trying for a long time but I did not succeed; GiveDirectly has come to bless me with that achievement.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by giving people cash to change their lives. They are people of their words. They have not cheated us. I have not seen any bad They have done.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not taken my money out yet, but I have planned to buy building materials to renovate my current house from thatch to zinc. Whenever it rains heavily, the storm removes the thatch and plastic from my house leaving it roofless; this makes my house flooded and makes me look simple and common amongst my friends. Once I complete buying the three bundles of zinc and three packs of nails using my third transfer, I will add them to the previous materials I bought from my other transfers and start my project. This will make me happy and give me respect.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope to accomplish my house-building process and move in with my family in the year to come.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am grateful to givedirectly for coming to my community things have been so challenging for me. I am a hunter but through this cash transfer I am building my house and I have had time to be with the family not going in the bush to hunt.
Givedirectly has not been any worse in my community than I know of.

I will pay labor cost to mold five thousand pieces of dirt blocks to build the house I intend to build.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was doing some work on my farm and decided to take a break to walk at the network area to check my account because we were told to check frequently. I checked and saw the money and i was so happy. I put my trust in Givedirectly from that moment because I wasn't too sure the money would come. I made my way back to the village and informed everyone but they said I was lying. They began to run at the network point to check and there was a loud noise of jubilation. It was a happy day in the town for every one of us. I still feel happy whenever i imagine tgat day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before Givedirectly started sending me this money, I was straining myself to do hard labour to make money and build my house. The biggest difference in my life is that I am not suffering like before. I don't do those things that caused me pain before. I do not sleep in the bush to hunt and sell tge meet for money. Givedirectly has blessed me and i am very happy.

I spent 450LD to fix mold for dirt bricks. I will use this tool to make bricks for tge house i intend to build. The rest of my money is in keeping to procure more materials for my house project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I plan to use the money to build a house, which had been my plan.
Am engaged in farming activities for the past four years now as means to maintain my family. I plant rice and cassava to sustain my family. The money I earn from the cassava farm, I use a portion of it to plant cocoa and use the balance to maintain my family.
The house I live in is a thatch structure and is also covered with plastic, the roof is not safe for me and my family the plastic roof is not strong enough to hold the rain. It leaks so badly and demands most of my belongings. I feel bad living this kind of life.
I will appreciate any help from GiveDirectly to improve my life.

What has brought me joy and happiness is being alive and healthy with my family although things are difficult I thank God for the life of my family and me.

My major challenge is money.
