How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have no new goals. I am just so grateful that GiveDirectly came to my town. I was overjoyed when I got enrolled in its cash program. This is a life saver for me. Things have been difficult for me. I had lost hope. My children father left me with our 2 children and went to Monrovia with another woman. He doesn't help me at all. I have no where to get money from. My brothers assist with one of my daughters tuition and our upkeep. The fact that I'm on this program, I know our lives will improve for the best.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything unwell. It's cash program is a great opportunity to change our lives. I am so grateful for this. That they don't accept gifts of goodwill from us is something we as villagers feels that they are not doing well. We try to appreciate them in our weak way but they don't accept our gifts. We are so grateful for this golden opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had lost hope. I had no where else to go to. Things have been so difficult for me and my two daughters. My husband left me with the kids and went off with another woman. I was so excited when I received my transfer. Hopefully after receiving all of the promised payments our lives will get better. I used some of my money to buy zinc and some other materials to build my house. I also paid some of my daughters tuition. I used the rest to start a new business. I will use the profits I make from the business to cater to my children.
