How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because using my first transfer, I was able to buy a motorcycle that is currently helping me with daily expenditure. This is in terms of proper feeding in my family and other necessities like hiring labor to help in farming. Before getting this transfer though I was sickly, my husband and I had to do casual labor to raise money to cater for the family needs. In addition, my life currently is different in that the garden I got back is helping me in extensive farming. This has relieved me from the issue of hiring farm land.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly in my opinion has done well by giving me money that has enabled me carry out a lot of activities that would not be possible like get back my land, get proper treatment, among others. GiveDirectly on the other hand has done nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 600000 to get back land that was given out in exchange for money that was used for my treatment at the time I had had several miscarriages. I then spent part of my second transfer to buy some household items such as clothes, matress, food, curtains. I used some to treat my child who had fallen ill at the time money was sent.
