How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I started receiving the cash transfer my new goal is to build a house with zinc roof, and continue educating my child.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In mine opinion, Give Directly gives us unconditional cash to improve our lives, but they don't receive gifts from us. Thanks to Give Directly for everything. I'm very happy to be part of this project.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With the cash transfer, I bought one bundle of zinc, paid one child tuition and then saved the balance cash.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was overwhelmed with joy when my son told me that my money has arrived. I couldn't hold back the jubilation and singing when I came from the pump and confirmed the news, a sum I've never had for myself ever before.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I met GiveDirectly, my life has changed for the better. I'm now about 54 years old and like they say, its better late than never, I'm grateful that God has blessed me through GiveDirectly. I walk around with my shoulder high because I will in a matter of months finish my own new house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I want to build a new house and move out the thatch hut I've lived in for years. I'm old now and need peace and comfort. Getting a new home for myself will be enough for me and thats what I intend to spend my transfers on.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will build my house. Right now, my house is not in a good condition. There's no zinc on it, it's a stick plastered with mud structure. Most of the time when it's raining, we find it difficult to sleep.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Whenever I see my grandchildren alive and we are sitting and eating together, it brings me happiness even though their father is dead.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I dont have money. Right now, I'm only able to make a small farm because of my limited strength. As a result the produce from the farm is small and when I sellbit, there's not much profit from it to help me and my grandchildren.
