How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now, my dreams and plans have come to pass. I am happy and my mind is settled because I have constructed a two bedroomed iron roofed house and I am hopefull of marrying a wife. I used to gamble with life and completely had no hope.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me money directly to my phone. I have put this money in development projects. How I wish they could continue giving us more money.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying materials(sand, cement, timber, bricks) that I used for constructing an iron roofed house. I paid for labour, cleared debts and bought food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest differnce in my daily is that, I am now a busy person working on my project of making blocks for building my house. I have a lot of hope and morale, besides, I now spend my time productively. Before, I used to go early to the trading center wasting a lot of time doing nothing.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Because It was my first time to receive such a Lumpsum amount of money, I felt happy. That was because I have been longing to build a permanent house but I had no idea on how to accumulate money to that tune. Long live GiveDirectly!
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first cash transfer worth UGX 890,000 for buying a bull with intent to support the household in opening land for easy and early cultivation. I have spent UGX 500,000 for making blocks which I want to use for building. The balance of UGX 310,000, I will spend it on transporting logs for burning blocks.
