With the help of the transfers I received, I was able to improve the once small poutry project I had into an income-generating activity that now supports me financially. I am now able to supply chickens to different people and hotels around my area and can proudly say that I have a stable source of income. I also managed to fence my compound entirely which has improved our security as a family but most of all kept my poultry away from the hungry mouths of wild cats that prevented the poultry project from growing before. Al laf these could not have been possible if I had been lucky enough to benefit from the project and all I have is plenty of the thanks to Give Directly.

In my opinion, the transparency involved during the registration process is what I loved most about Give Directly. Involving the village elders and even using the members of a particular village as guides ensures that only rightful members of that village benefit from the project. I also realized that different Give Directly officers(Field Officers) visit a household during different stages making it tough to have a fraudulent deal, Keep it that way so that the more deserving individuals can benefit. I did not see anything that did not work out perfectly throughout the process, therefore, have no comments on areas of improvement.

When I received my first transfer, I invested a better part of it on poultry farming by constructing a chicken pen and adding more chickens. During the day when the chickens were let out, they would be attacked by wild cats which are very common in our area because of the sugarcane farms that serve as a perfect hiding place for them. To keep my chicken safe, I decided to spend almost the whole of my second transfer in fencing my compound using barbed wire that cannot allow the wild cats through. I have never lost any of my chickens to wild cats since then and I am not worried about letting them out because I know they are safe. I am very grateful to Give Directly for changing my life because I am now a well-known chicken supplier in my area.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have seen a positive change, I have fenced my home hence it has enhanced more security more so on my poultry farming.No one will steal my chicken anymore.

I was very happy and surprised because initially I did not believe Give Directly will fulfill their promise. I had never received such amount of money in my life.

I spent my first transfer to buy wire mesh that I used to fence my home. I do poultry farming thus I bought cement that I used to renovate my chicken house.I paid those who were helping me with farm work (weeding) and also bought food for my family with the remaining amount.
