How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Through this financial support, I was in position to pay dowary to my in laws that has made me very happy because I have being staying with my wife for more than 3 years but I had failed to raise the needed dowary for my parents in law.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I can easily access farm lands. Previously, I had no farm land due to limited land. The cash transfers have enabled me to hire farm land.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I read the mobile money message early morning. It partly read that I had received UGX 1730250 from GiveDirectly. I was happy because this money was going to change my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the first cash transfer to purchase a cow worth UGX 535000 and two mattresses worth UGX 230000. I bought a bed worth UGX 100000. I hired a piece of farm land worth UGX 200000. The remaining balance of the cash transfer I plan to spend it on hiring more farm lands.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means getting additional acre of farm land that I will cultivate crops, sell some in order to meet family problems and eat some. It has been very difficult for us to get enough harvest because our plot of land is very small.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When I have eaten a meal, a smile is automatically shaded on my face. It's difficult to find what to eat and once I have eaten lunch, there I hope for the next day's activity which is my main work in order to sustain the household.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a diversified source I income. I rely on farming as the main source of income yet it is not even in large quantity. That has limited liquidity in my household which makes my household vulnerable during the times of illness as food shortage.
