How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I have a new goal which is, to build my house. I want to remembered GiveDirectly when she shall have gone. I believe that, the house will benefit my family and I. Because, I want to live a comfortable life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GiveDirectly has done for us in this district is beyond expectations. Imagine, giving me money that I didn't labor for. At least, I'm going to have a place where my family and I can live a comfortable life soon.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought one cartoon of nail and two bundles of zinc with part of my money. I also bought planks and paid workmanship to the contractors for the sawing of planks.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was my Trustee who told me that I have received transfer from GIVE DIRECTLY. When I received this news from my trustee, I was so happy because I live here with my husband but the both of us are old and don't have anyone to care for us. Knowing that we received transfer from GIVE DIRECTLY had us really excited because with the transfer we could take care some of our needs like owning a place for ourselves.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm more happy in my daily life now because I have the assurance that I am going to own my own house through my transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
We have already bought sticks for the house we want to build. We are saving the balance transfer to be able to purchase the zinc for the house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"When I receive this money, I will build a house so that when my children visit me, they'll have somewhere to rest. The house I currently live in outlived it's lifespan. When the rain falls, I have nowhere to lay my head. Everywhere in the room gets flooded. This have created a condition where my children have to sleep with relatives whenever they visit me. So when I receive this money from Give Directly, I plan to build my own house. Next, I'll start a "dry goods" to help support my family. I am of age. I don't have enough strength to cope with the hard labor of farming. So I'll start a small business to help support my family."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"To be frank, nothing have happened in the past six months to make me happy. We have been in extreme difficulty. We can barely have enough food to eat. My house leaks alot. How will I be happy when I'm worried everytime I see rain. I'm worried that my house is about to get flooded?. I cannot point to any specific situation (s) that brought me happiness."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"My primary challenge is to pay my kids tuation. I have two children currently enrolled in highschool. My husband is not employed. We live wholely on subsistence farming. We have to burn charcoal to enable us pay our kids tuation. Now that my husband and I are already old, we cannot burn enough charcoal to get the needed money to support our children. The result, our kids are often thrown out of school for unpaid fees."
