How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I have secured some farm land and purchased oxen to facilitate ploughing. I have cultivated my crops with hope of getting food come harvest season. Before I got the transfer I used to hire oxen and it was very expensive for me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?

My life is good now because I am able to afford basic needs for my family especially food. This makes us happy and we are at leaving at peace with my wife. Back then, we had quarrels and angry arguments because whenever my wife asked for any thing, I could not provide due to lack of money.

The moment I received the transfer, I felt too happy and relieved because I had so many pressing challenges yet there was no money.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for hiring three acres of land and buying a bull. I bought a mattress, a bed, utensils, a bicycle, blanket, bed sheets and food. I paid some debts and a medical bill of UGX 30,000.
