How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is good now because I opened a barbershop which generates income for my family. In this business, I am able to generate a minimum of UGX 10,000 and a maximum of UGX 40,000 in a day. I spend this income to facilitate agriculture, save and for setting off emergencies like sickness. I thank GiveDirectly for the transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to give us phones and send money direct to us. If they had used other channels, money would have not reached the rightful beneficiaries while intact. I have nothing to say that they are not doing well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for starting up a barbarshop at UGX 1,000,000. I bought two cows at UGX 600,000, the little balance was spent on transport and food.
