Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
While I was working and clearing the grasses that grew near my plantain garden, I received a message so I paused to read since I was a former teacher. I noticed the money from Givedirectly had arrived. I couldn't believe it due to the joy i was feeling; so I had to check my account again to confirm and it was true. I dropped the cutlass and came back joyfully to inform my family. My children jumped on me and we danced at the front of the house. I am still feeling the joy from that day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm a farmer and my wife is battling sickness. I have to brush and cultivate farmland to be able to solve some of my problems but now I am able to settle and save some to start my project. I feel so excited daily. My physical appearance changed the day i received my transfer. My life has changed positively.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought two(2) bundles of zinc to construct a new house and I got new pairs of uniform for my two kids. I sent money to my son who is staying with his older brother in pleebo for completion of fees and provisions.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
What I plan to do with my cash transfer are, to make a large cocoa farm within my town, which I've started already, reason being, there will come a time that I'll be unable to work, at that time, the cocoa farm will be able to help my children generate cash in other to support their homes; I will also send my children to school so that they can be able to help me tomorrow after acquiring quality education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What had brought me happiness in the last six months is, for the fact that I'm counted among the livings, it's a blessing which makes me happy; another thing is that, seeing all of my children and grandchildren being enrolled in school had made me happy as well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Those challenges I'm currently faced with are, 'the issue of generating cash', I do hard labor but earn little that isn't enough to support my home, another challenge is my health condition (eye sight), this embarrasses me when the sun comes up, which causes me to postpone my farming work, another is, the issue of supporting my children in school, although their elder brother helps them with tuition, but they always come to me for their school materials, but the little cash I generate from my farming activities can't enable me get all of their school needs.
