How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In the near future, I want to see all of my children graduating from school some day and be the one looking after me when I'm no longer able to do things on my own. I want to live to see my grandparents' children lying on my arm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I couldn't afford to pay my children's fees, but Givedirectly money helps me to fulfil my greatest wish as a single mother. All of their works are very unique and committed.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I lost my spouse 6 years ago.As a single mother, I have been the one working tirelessly to support seven children and other family members in school.Every year my children and I produce enough crops when they are sold out to help them with their fees. The little help from Givedirectly makes a lot of differences in the lives of my family.I'm now able to do more stuff for my family.I bought some cement to plaster our house and renovate my entire house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In the next few years, I want to see all of my children graduating from school and even up to university levels to enable them to take proper care of me when I'm no longer strong enough to care for myself.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly satisfied me by sending my money correctly to my phone without taking anything from me. They made a poor widow to complete her house, for which I'm forever grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Since the death of my spouse 5 years ago, life has been very difficult for my children and I. I was the one making farms to care for them. Most of the time, the crops don't yield enough to enable me to sell to support my family. Givedirectly brought a lot of joy to my home. Our house wasn't completed but with Givedirectly support, my entire house was plastered and I was able to enroll my children in school. Now I'm a proud mother.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Early that moring my friends (neighbours) were seen talking about how they have received their second transfer. I hurrily took my phone and ran to my daughter to check. It was confirmed that I also received my share. I was happy and began shouting " Thank God for Givedirectly". It was a happy time for me to see such a promise coming to rality.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I lost my husband couple of years ago. Things were very difficult for me and my smaller children. I managed to have built a house but could not complete if because I never had the financial support. However today, the story has changed. Things are much far better and I am pleased with how life is going on at the moment all because of Givedirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of my ttransfer was used on cement to plaster my house. The balance went to my children school fees

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to go the hospital with my first cash transfer and treat myself because since my husband died I have been sick. Secondly, I will buy some things for my room and try to fix my house and send my one grandchild who live with me to school so he van learn something for the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what brought me joy and happiness was the news of GD coming to our community to us with cash grant.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge or challenges has been feeding myself and my one grand child who live with me and helping me with the drawing of drinking water and helping me to sometimes wash my clothes.
