How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I never had the thought about continuing my work as a carpenter at my age. One reason was I never had money to buy tools. However, upon receiving my transfer I was able to buy new tools to start making chairs and table to help me. I don't have much strength to do farming work so my plan is to do this nob to feed my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does everything well especially cash trabsfer to help change people lives. I have no idea of what they dont do well.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I am 76 years old living with my paralysed wife. I can not do anything for myself so my trustee was the one who broke the good news about Givedirectly money. She came to my house to narrate the good new. As she explains, I quickly ran from the kicken with joy dancing and praising my God. I wife and I slept fine that night. I was so happy that at last I am going to build a house as a man.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Things were hard, my wife and I were eating banana for survival and sometime sell coconut to buy rice. I can no longer make farm because I'm old and don't have the strength like before and there is no one to help us. My only son is till a boy. I am hopeful of a better life when I shall have completed my house. My current house is falling, but I thank God for Givedirectly and the money. I no more have to eat banana or sell coconut to eat. I am so happy for the money. I am forever greatful to Givedirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My plan for the money is to build my house. At my age I can not live with family members, especially with my ill wife. So I am desiring to buy materials to build my house since the one I am living in is almost falling.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I will use the cash transfer to build a house. The house I live in currently leaks when it rains; furthermore, there aren't any secure doors and windows. Once my house has been built, the second thing on my mind is to take my wife to the hospital for proper treatment. She has not been too well for some time now and we don't have money to take her to the hospital. When these are done and I still have cash left, it was be used for our up keep until God finally calls us."
What is the happiest part of your day?
" I have been sick for a very long time. There were times I couldn't walk. I an so happy that I have gotten back on my feet these few ways".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"My major challenge right now is shelter. The house we live in is very old. It leeks, what we use as doors are mats. My wife and I are old that we are unable to work. We need money to renovate our house".
