How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfer transformed my life in such a way that I was able to purchase many household items like bed sheets, utensils and a radio all at once. In addition to this, I was able to plaster and cement my house. I am very proud that I can afford to host visitors at my house. Before receiving the cash transfer, I was living in a house built with mud and no concrete floor. It was always dusty and uncomfortable to stay in. I applaud GiveDirectly for their generosity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly did well to send us money. I am happy that GiveDirectly sent me the cash transfer that has transformed my life. On the other hand, I cannot point out any wrong doing about GiveDirectly as a whole because it has did well to help me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase two calves worth UGX 950,000. I also bought two pairs of bed sheets worth UGX 56,000 and a radio worth UGX 35,000. I was able to pay off an old debt of UGX 155,000. In addition to these, I gave my daughter UGX 100,000 and I also bought cassava worth UGX 120,000. I have a balance of UGX 500,000 that I am planning to spend on completing my house.
