Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my cash transfer, I was so grateful and happy..It was like a dream come true as it gave me hope for a better future.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is that in the past, I used to struggle when it comes to finding food as my husband Sentala relies on casual labour to find money..After receiving the payments, as a family, we made plans on buying enough food for the whole household hence we no longer struggle as we used to.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to buy food..With the rise in price of food commodities in my country, I spent about $80 on buying food for my family. Then, I spent about $70 in procuring agricultural materials such as fertiliser and seeds..I did so because I am planning on growing maize, soya beans and other crops on a a large scale..So when the fertility of the soil is improved, I feel I will be able to realize high yields. Lastly, I spent some of the money in buying clothes and beddings for the whole family as we did not have enough in the house.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Getting this money will enable me to buy 10 bags of maize and the other I can buy a goat which costs about k20,000. This will be an asset and will help us financially in future. The remaining money can be invested in making and selling doughnuts to sustain the money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
There hasn't been anything that has brought us happiness. We take the day as it comes.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We struggle to find food because we rely on casual work to get money. Often times where's no work to be done and that means there's going to be no food at home. Tje business we do does not generate much so that still leaves in lack of many basic needs.
