Receiving this money means that my dream of attending a driving school will finally come true. For the past four years, I have been into construction work which requires very hard labor. Due to the amount of labor force that this job requires, I always become sick or sustain injuries in the process. I do not feel comfortable doing this job but I have no option because it is the only one that is available for me presently. I have been having the desire to attend a driving school but what I earn from the construction work is not enough to pay the fees and I have not been fortunate to have anyone come to my aid. If I receive this cash transfer, I will use it to attend a driving school and get a driver's license. With the driver's license I will be able to find job in the driving sector which will require less labor and also provide me a stable income to support my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me joy and happiness in the last six months is a huge contract that I secured three months ago. Over the past months, I have not been able to secure contracts which caused my income to drop drastically thereby making things to become very difficult for me. Due to this situation I could not afford to meet my basic needs. Three months ago, I got a call from my boss informing me that he had secured a very huge construction contract which would pay us twice the amount that were earning from previous contracts. I was very excited when I got this information because I believed that my financial burdens were finally about to be lifted.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge that I am currently facing is going back to school. I dropped out of school about seven years ago because the person who was shouldering all of the responsibilities of my schooling was no longer in the position to do so. I do not have any other relative who is in the position to pay my tuition. I believe that if I graduate I will be able to secure a better job to support myself and those connected to me. I feel very sad about this situation every time I see some of my friends who have graduated from high school and secured better jobs for themselves.
