How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Absolutely yes. I became confident and started seeing the positive side of my when I heard the news that I will receive money from GD. I never thought that I can have this opportunity in my life. When GD came in our village, I started thinking on how best I can use my money and I set some tangible goals. I thought of improving my house and I am happy that this has been done. I have managed to plaster my house with the cement I bought. I also thought of improving my sleeping place. So I managed to buy some blackects for the family. I also planned to boost food production and I bought all needed farm inputs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so grateful for what GD has done to me. My life has changed for the better and GD has transformed many lives in this village. The process was also very fine such that there's nothing to complain about.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I didn't have farm inputs for this growing season and I thought it wise to buy. I bought 2 bags of fertilizer to add on the fertilizer with my first transfer. I also bought herbicides, maize seed and hoes. I also bought 6 bags of cement which I will use to plaster my house. My sleeping place was not nice. I bought some beddings such as a mat and blackects for the entire family. I also bought 4 bags of maize because I bought few bags with the first transfer.
