How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much better and composed because I was able to complete the purchase of a plot of land. I needed land since our ancestral home could nolonger sustain us all.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly operates uniquely in that they deliver the cash transfers directly to the people. The fact that they trust people to spend the cash transfers freely with no strings attached.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I feel relieved in my daily life knowing that I will be getting my personal plot of land that I will build on. Given the fact that we are many children to my parents who have less land and I am a come back daughter whose marriage failed, this will then give me an independent life. Before getting this money, I was not sure how to raise a large amout of money to buy my children land. This is because my idea of farming until I raise the money was always not fruitful since the seasons kept in changing.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy that I would be able to fullfil my dream of acquiring personal land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent Ugx 1000000 of my first transfer to partially pay for a plot of land.
I then used the balance of Ugx 700000 to cater for some needs such as paying fees for my children, buying house hold items like bed, mattress, bed sheets, Clothing, and food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that, I will settle down in my own family. That is because I currently stay in my ancestral home and because I have produced at home, I need to buy for them their own land which will be relief for me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Usually, in the evening while I am eating super is when I am happy. This isbecause we shall all be a round at that time making fun while eating which relieves me off the day's stress.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is that, being a single mother, I face a challenge of inadequate income in order to support my family pay school fees and acquire land where I will settle them.
