How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The change in my life is that, I am happy and filled with hope because I built a permanent house though it's not shattered. I used to feel sad while staying in a grass thatched house that could leak when it rained.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through giving unconditional cash transfer directly to the beneficiary. I see GiveDirectly as being very organised.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth UGX 756,000 for paying labour for the builders of my permanent house, I bought sand, bricks, cement worth UGX 690,000. I paid transport of UGX 50,000 and feeding costed me UGX 136,000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, my living standards have improved as opposed to the past when I didn't have the money to dress and sleep well.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money, I felt very excited because this was a record breaking amount I received in my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy household goods i.e utensils, clothes and beddings at Ugx 480000. I also used it for brick making at Ugx 200000 and bought iron sheets at Ugx 580000. I'm planning to spend my balance to buy more building materials for commencing the construction.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means to marry. I do not have a spouse so onces I get the transfers i will buy animals to give my in-laws as dowry.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is evening hours when Iam with friends. We chat interesting stories which pleases me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. This is because I do not have money to help in planning development issues.
