Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Alongside the school fees payment I had been paying, I have an additional goal to purchase a goat. This is meant to add up to the savings in the next four months which we will be raising towards buying a cow. We saw it good to start small then built the savings to a point where we will be able to purchase a good breed of a cow.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
When GiveDirectly first came into our village and specifically to our household, we were struggling with lots of problems. With the talks we had with the officers who came, we saw a breakthrough in life and we thank God that the long-awaited help was finally on our doorstep. School fees payment was a major difficulty which we were facing and nowadays we have sorted dit out. In the last four months, our children have been enjoying a smooth learning process without being sent home to collect school fees. This to me is the biggest difference in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my expectations will be to have completed accumulating the savings we are currently working on. This means we will have bought a good breed of a cow that we are working towards at the moment.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Our current life is really good compared to how it was in the past four months. We are currently healthy, everybody is happy and we are feeding well in our household. Initially, we were living with lots of worries sometimes not knowing what to eat in the following day but GiveDIrectly has made our lives so simple and interesting. No more depression over what the children would eat. We have sufficient foodstuff and we are comfortable working hard to source other foods.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Purchasing a cow in our home which we are now rearing rejuvenated our energies towards working hard. Nowadays we have plans which we are hopeful that they will be accomplished with time. An additional goal that we have now is to purchase a large water tank. We have been working long distances to fetch water which has never been easy. Now that we have a cow becomes even harder and it's been our hope that we make an initiative to own a water reservoir since our area has been raining a lot of late. This water will be collected and used in serving all the domestic purposes.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Before receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, things were really hard that even raising a small amount occasionally to fund the savings groups was not possible. GiveDirectly changed a lot of things when it came in. I am now a member of a merry-go-round with 25 members each contributing 1000 KES every month. This group has made a lot of changes in our household and the biggest difference in my daily life is the presence of a heifer which I bought in the last four months. Seeing it every morning brings a lot of joy with that feeling of ownership in me. I really thank GiveDirectly for the great job they have done in our lives. We never remained the same again.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have managed to have completed the water tank purchasing project. I am still working hard to see that I accumulated the savings in the group enough to purchase a large water tank. This is my dream project since it will reduce the time I have been wasting in walking all along from home to the river and back. I am really grateful that all these are possible through giveDirectly which is dedicated to funding our projects of choice.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago since we have adequate food in our family. Consequently, we feel healthier, stronger and more energized to handle our varied tasks. Besides, I expect a huge harvest since I purchased quality farm inputs and planted on time. Still, I have gained more prestige from the cow that I purchased last month using the transfers that I got from GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The new goal for my life for the next four months is to build a new house. The house that we are currently residing in looks old and rusty. Thus, I look forward to having a more decent house. I will save the money that I get from GiveDirectly to finance the project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have afforded to purchase a cow of my own. As a housewife without any source of substantial income, I never dreamed of buying a cow. Indeed GiveDirectly came to make the impossibles more possible. I feel so happy and I have acquired considerable prestige from the cow. Hence, I live as a role model for other housewives in my community.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change drastically in the next six months since both of our cows will be lactating. Accordingly, we shall be having adequate milk for consumption while selling the surplus to fetch more income for our family. Still, my son who is at the college will have completed his studies. Consequently, I will be relieved from the burden of paying school fees. Overall, we shall be leading a better and healthier life since we shall be enjoying more food and a balanced diet. Additionally, we shall be residing in a new house, thus enjoying more prestige and respect from our relatives and the immediate community.

The new goal that I have is to buy livestock so as to have a source of income for my family from sale of milk and have some left for consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently stress-free and less strained. Things had been tough for me; I had been overworking doing casual labor that would earn me a meager pay that only caters for a few things. I am now at peace. Had the transfer not been sent, my children would have also been sent home for lack of school fees. We are now peaceful and happy as a family since we are well fed, school fees is paid and I am not physically overworked by too much labor.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life in the next six months to be less hard and become better. I expect to live in a better house. We currently live in a thatched kitchen that has a leaking roof. I expect to get a better kitchen. This expectation will be met because my husband and I plan to be combining our GD transfers and save it so as to buy iron sheets and build a better house for our family and we are so optimistic about it.
