How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope to invest in buying cows for milk which I can sell and get some income but also use for my family's break fast . I can also sell the calves when the cow gives birth to support my family needs.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home trying to clean the kraal. I felt so happy when the money arrived. I was happy that I've forgotten.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I now have milk every morning and my business has improved. I sell in a retail shop and used some of the money to add more stock. My family is good. I had no way of getting a piece of land to construct a house but now I can.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a cow because I didn't have one for milk and spent some more on paying for my piece of land where I can relocate to.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
With this cash transfer, I plan to buy a plot of land worth USD810 on which I will build a house for at a cost of USD540 for my people to resettle there and start living good life with no worries about landslides and flash floods since the place I plan to go to is a flat area with less risk. I also plan use USD270 to start up a small retail shop in a kiosk which will help us raise daily income for my people to access basic needs. And the balance of USD270 will go another bull that will support me to expand on my retail shop as time goes on.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I felt very when I sold my bull at USD270 which helped us food for some time without worries about what to eat. I also used part of the money to another bull worth USD229. My two children who do some simple sent us money for Christmas which let us enjoy like any other person and indeed I was very happy because my family had good meals during a festival season.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I currently face a challenge of water that comes from under ground when it rains which affects the house and even lack where to sleep and just up to morning. Another problem that disturbs us is landslides and flash floods which at one time happened and stones killed people hence leaving us in fears that we are to die anytime.
