How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than If I had not received cash transfer in that, I am now an empowered person because I have a bull for ploughing, a cow for milk production and soon I will finish renovating my house and live a better life. Before receiving this cash transfer, I used to hire bulls for ploughing which was very expensive.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well through community sensitization which has seen empowered households in our community. According to me, Give Directly needs to come to the community to monitor what the beneficiaries have used the money for.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,633,000, I was able to buy a cow at UGX 600,000 in order to rare it for milk production. I bought building aggregates at UGX 340,000, two trips of sand at UGX 200,000, I bought ten bags of cement worth UGX 290,000 towards renovating my permanent house. The balance of UGX 203,000, I want to use for paying labour and feeding them.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now happy compared to days before I received my transfer.

The moment I received my first transfer, I thanked God for his helping hand through Give Directly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer in purchasing two mattresses and a blanket worth 270,000ugx for myself and my son, I bought utensils which costed 50,000ugx, I also bought a bull to help in ploughing costing 700,000ugx. I then acquired cement of fifteen bags worth 420,000ugx for plastering my house. I bought food for 60,000ugx and the balance of 200,000ugx, I injected into my business of brewing alcohol.
