How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
. Life would have been very different had I not received transfers from GiveDirectly. I would not have managed to find money on my own to afford building a new house and put an iron sheet roof on it. Before receiving the transfers, I used to do piece works for different people so that I should find money which was not enough to save some to build a house as it was also not enough to buy food for a family of 8 people. Had I not received the transfers, I would not have managed to buy food, clothes and mattresses for the children. With the received transfers, my life has changed for the better as I am now able to buy everything thing I want at any time. I am very thankful for the financial support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly do well by advising us to use the transfers on things which will benefit our lives even when they have stopped giving us financial support. They advise us to do things like building houses or starting business which is a good advise. In my case, I was very poor that I did not even imagine myself having an iron sheet roofed house but thanks to your advise and financial support, I now have a such a good house. I would also want GiveDirectly to continue giving me financial support as that makes me to be very happy. On the other side, there is nothing which GiveDirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money I received to pay people who were putting a roof on my new how which I built with the first transfers. I also used the money to buy a bicycle which I want to use for a transport business so that I should e able to find money to support my family. With the transfers, I also managed to buy clothes and mattress for my 7 children which made them to be very happy.
