How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I wouldn't have achieved much in life. I had a small house which was not comfortable since it used to leak during rainy days. That is no longer the case now that I managed to build a better house. I have also started a poultry project which I am hopeful will grow and generate more income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD helps improve the living standards of many through the transfers. I have seen many peoples lives transform after investing their money on different projects that are now generating income for them.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I did spend a better part of my second transfer to buy new seats to replace the old ones that I had and now my visitors can sit comfortably whenever they stop by. I also invested part of the money on a poultry project whereby, I built a poultry house and bought a few hens to start me off. The project will help me generate income when it grows. The remaining amount was spent on steel door and a window for my house that was under construction.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy iron sheets for renovating my house and part of the cash will be used to buy furniture like chairs for the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I go to my farm to plough beans and maize. This makes me happy because it suppliments my income.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is that I do not have a stable source of income and at times I might go a day without finding a job because I depend on doing casual labor on people's farms which is not easy to find.
