How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I have a new goal for this current transfer. I have been sick for the past three years now and I need to go for surgery according to doctor advised. I been saving part of my first and second transfer to go to the bhospital for the surgery. I'm intending to go soon but I was waiting for GiveDirectly interview to go Monrovia for my treatment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everything that GiveDirectly has done are great. GiveDirectly don't ask me for food, money, and she has given me money to be able to treat myself from this illness.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my money on renovating my old house and I will use the balance money to pay for transportation, medical bills and the surgery fees.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was over happy because it was the first time in my entire life to receive this amount of money. When my son told me that I have received money from GiveDirectly, I danced because I was dued to undergo surgery but I didn't have the money to pay the bills. I am forever grateful to GiveDirectly for the help and may God bless those who gave the money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Although GiveDirectly gave me money and I'm very grateful for that but I am also grateful because I can contact my family members living in Monrovia and other parts of Liberia. In the past, I didn't have phone to call my family members so easily as I do nowadays. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for the phone they gave me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought food, medicine and I saved the balance money. I intend to wait for my next transfer before undergoing surgery.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Since my husband died more than years now, I went under operation and the operation was done successfully. So, upon this receiving this cash, I will used the money to treat myself. Because the sickness I went under the operation for has return and I don't have the money now to get back to the hospital for full medical attention. The body that I'm in now, is not my natural body, because of this sickness, I'm worrying, that I will died without seeing my great grand child/children that also cause me to worry more. To even get food, I have to make my own farm, just to feed myself. All my children are grown up and they have to take care of their homes.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My the most happiest things in my life are many; for example: waking up in the morning to see the day and seeing myself getting daily meals makes me happy. And lastly, the present of Givedirectly to my house assuring me of receiving cash transfer makes me happy the most. Because, it is a dream that God has delivered me from my illness through Givedirectly. There was no one in this land that I believe were willing to help me of my illness. They all just felt that my old age has taken over me, that I'm awaiting death. And if I go under the operation successfully, from the cash received from Givedirectly, I will continued to praise the God of Givedirectly tor delivering me from my nightmare which is this sickness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge is this sickness that has return to my body. I don't have to the money now to go under operation and my children don't have that financial hand to help me also. They have their own family constraints. Sometime I regret the death of my late husband, if he was alive, I wouldn't have been faced with what I'm going through. By making farm, just to feed myself. I suppose to be sitting and waiting for my grandchildren to come to me and at the end, when they are going back to their parents, I give them some fruits. All these are not avails because of my illness.
