How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In the past, my life was very miserable and unhappy. I had no farm land because our land had been attached as collateral to the loan I secured. However, I was able to clear that loan and I had repossessed the farm land. My social life was very unpleasant before because of the code of dressing . One could tell that I was poor right by looking at my code of dressing. Nevertheless, I am now happy because I dress neatly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I credit GiveDirectly for sending us unconditional cash transfers that have developed the poor. People have been able to educate their children through the aid of the cash transfers.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all my second cash transfer to pay off an old loan. I had acquired this loan to finance my school fees back then.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The sincere truth is my household is now peaceful and everyone is happy. We now socialize well with my wife and we share plans together. I am looking forward to enrolling in a driving course so that I can get a driving employment opportunity. This will enable me support my household. Previously, I had no money to enable me pursue a course of my choice and life seemed unpredictable. I am glad that GiveDirectly choose to send me the cash transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard my phone buzzing at 02:00am, only to check and it was a message through Beyonic from GiveDirectly. I was happy because I had very many unfulfilled plans. I saw this as a time to fulfill my future plans.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my cash transfer to purchase a cow worth UGX 500000 and UGX 350000 was spent on clearing my old school fees. I bought household items ( bed sheets, mattress, clothes) worth UGX 250000. I am planning to spend UGX 600000 on enrolling for a driving course.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is to spend the money for marrying a spouse. Iam currently being threatened by in-laws that they will return their daughter if I donot give them dowery. So recieving this transfers will enable me buy animals that I will give my in-laws as dowery. This will make me have stable stay with my spouse and in-laws.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day aftenoon after eating lunch.I get sastified and i will be able to chatt and smile with my spouse.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. I donot have any source of money buying land. This land I would be cultivating to get crop produce. Some of this i would be selling in exchange for money to solve other needs.
