What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfers, I used 100,000ugx for completing payment of an acre of land in order to boost crop production. I bought bricks worth 240,000ugx for constructing, the balance of 1,293,000ugx, I want to use it for purchasing iron sheets and paying labour for engineers towards the construction of a permanent house that will improve on our living conditions..
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done well by transforming households through giving unconditional cash transfers. There is nothing that they have not done well.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I now own an acre of land that I will grow crops which will eliminate food insecurity in my household. To add on that, my self-esteem has also improved because am now going to construct a permenent house that will improve on my living conditions.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 1,400,000ugx of my first transfer to complete the payment of the plot of land, i used 100,000ugx for paying witnessess. Am spending the balance on paying casual laborers who are helping me do garden work.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment i received the transfer i felt so happy in my heart. I didn't want to show people that i had received the money because some of them would borrow me yet they are not good at paying back.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that am so happy. I used to think of how i would get money for completing the payment of the plot but i thank God Give Directly came at a right time.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is frequent illness that have always affected the productivity of my household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. Seeing my children playing while they are happy and healthy makes me happy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that i will be able to cater for my children's education needs like buying books, pens and school uniform.
