How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have managed to buy good bedding, my houses no longer leak because I did some renovation. I am hopeful that I will construct an Iron roofed house in the near by future since I have already purchased some construction materials.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly did well to give me money, the staff are also very honest because they have not asked us for any bribes. There is nothing they are doing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying construction materials worth UGX 1,150,000, a bicycle at UGX 250,000, food at UGX 83,000, paying for labour at UGX 100,000 and transport of UGX 50,000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I now sleep in a better house, before, I used to sleep under a leaky roof.

The moment I received my cash transfer, I felt so happy.

When I received my first cash transfer worth 1,700,000ugx, I repaired my grass thatched houses at 322,000ugx, I bought two cows at 1,194,000ugx, I bought a bed at 78,000ugx, I also bought a mattress at 106,000ugx in order to improve on my living condition.

Receiving this money means to buy household items like beddings, that's mattresses,bed and bed sheets. My family lacks all this necessities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moments is always afternoon's after lunch. I relax knowing my children have eaten.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of money for buying beddings and other necessities in my family.
