How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is different than it would have been because I sleep well on a bed with a mattress. Before, I used to sleep on the floor with just my old clothes as a bed and you wake-up having some body pain due to hardness of the ground.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well giving us money that has enabled people to improve their livelihood in the village, especially acquiring livestock and to build iron sheet roofed houses. There's nothing it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Second transfer was spent to buy household items like a bed and a mattress, and the rest is saved for uncertainty like illness.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest differencein in my daily life is the feeling of gratitude towards GiveDirectly since it has given me money that has enabled me to take good care of my sick, helpless and elderly mother through proper and timely feeding. Secondly, seeing that my house is being renovated has made me so happy. I have no more worry as before when it was in a state of falling. At that time, I even did not have hope of getting money to buy grass to at least keep us from the leakage during rainny season. Hence, the biggest difference in my daily life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy that I woke up and started dancing and making joyfull noise.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first Ugh 1100000 transfer to buy timber, cement, paint, sand, and paying labor that is helping me in renovating my house. I also hired garden land and bought ground nut seedlings that I planted in the hired garden at Ugx 200000. I then bought a goat and some food that I am using to feed my family and the labor that is working on my house.
