How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I would not manage to renovate my house on my own if I did not receive this transfer. My life is now different because i have food both in my house and in my maize field. GD is the reason for all this. I had never slept in an iron sheets corrugated house before but now iam now expected to occupy one. Iam simply a happy person.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What amazes me with GiveDirectly is that they have poor and vulnerable people at heart. They support poor people irrespective of how remote an area is. Secondly helping people with cash is one of the best approaches of supporting the poor so that they make their own choices on how to spend it based on their needs. This is one of the reasons why these cash transfers from GiveDirectly have changed the face of our village. There is nothing I can point at as a weakness or where GD fails.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When i had received the second and final transfer i thought of buying iron sheets of which i did. I will soon renovate my house. Part of this transfer was spent on buying 2 goats for animal farming.
