How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had a very small house which was not enough for my family. Sourcing funds to build a house was a challenge. I had to set another goal when I heard that I will receive money from GD and that was to build another house having enough space for the family. I am so grateful for the transfer well received.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is the organisation that has changed my life for the better. I am so grateful for what they have done. They are doing very good in providing cash transfers to several recipients. The money is also very enough to transform one's life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had a very small house and it was not a comfortable one. I had bought required materials such as iron sheets, timber and bricks using my first transfer. When I received my second transfer, I used the money to build a house such that I hired some builders, bought 8 iron sheets and some bags of cement. I am so grateful that I have a big and a nice house now.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when i got the transfer. I was taking a nap and i heard the text since i can not read i showed my son the message and his the one who told me to go and collect the money.

My life has just began to change. I had always wanted to build house but never started to due to financial constraints. But today i see that dream becoming a reality due to GiveDirectly

I really want to build a house and using these transfers i bought iron sheets, window frames, door frames, four bags of maize, a matress and also bricks to use in building my house.

Receiving this money has meant a great development for my family and I plan to build a house and buy enough food for my family.

Am the happiest in the afternoon because I spend time with my family and it gives me joy
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of the biggest challenge I have faced is to make enough money to buy food for my family, since my husband left 11 years ago I had to be the one to provide for my family, I own I small piece of land which I farm maize and it doesn't last long to feed my entire. I buy fresh maize cook it and sells it at the market to help me raise money to feed my family
