How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that l am now using solar to light my house which is very convenient to my family and of a great help to my children when they are studying as compared to before when they were using tin lump. Solar has also become like a source of income because I use it to charge phones for people and get money for my up keep, which was not the case before. The better part of it is that I no longer spend money to buy parrafin which was very costly. I am also now staying in a nice spacious comfortable house where my farming are comfortable move freely in the house, as compared to before everything had to be put in one corner to creat space.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly procedure of recruiting people was free and fair, their staffs were not corrupted. The process was also very secret, mostly their way of sending money which which was M-pesa was the best because it is very convenient and safe. I did not see anything that Give directly did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to add building materials and built a spacious comfortable house. I was staying in a very small house that could not accommodate me with my family members. It could not accommodate my church members when they come to my house for weekly meeting and this was forcing me to leave some visitors outside, I was not impressed but I did not have otherwise. Since I built a new house I am very happy that I always long to hold the meeting in my house every week. My family members are also now very happy because they are staying in a very spacious comfortable where they can move freely. I spent most of the transfer to buy solar system for lighting my house because I have been admiring houses with electricity and solar, being that I could afford to connect electricity I decided to buy solar. So when I got the money I spent most of the transfer to buy solar system for lighting my house. This has enabled my children carryout their studies with ease compared to when they were using tin lump which was affecting their eyes and they were also experiencing frequent flue because of the smoke from the tin lump.It was also very expensive to buy paraffin each and every time. The tin lump had so many challenges making it inconvenient because sometimes it run out of parrafin while they were still studying. I was also tired of buying parrafin every now and then.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Since I received this transfer I have found peace in my life because I have always desired to have a big house and I was not able to get one because of my low income but now I am finally having it. Thanks to Give Directly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt good because I will never have to disturb my neighbours by asking for spending place for my children and my visitors. I will now have enough space to accommodate all my visitors.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on buying building materials such as iron sheets, nails and timber which I am going to use in building a new house since the one I had was too small and could not accommodate my family well.
