How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Through this support, I was able to get back my acre of land after clearing the debt that I got for paying my wife's dowry. Before, I was not very sure when I would be able to settle the debt that had taken 3 years.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me cash that I used to settle the debt and I was able to get back my acre of land. GiveDirectly has only done good to me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for paying off a debt that I had and I was able to get back my acre of land that acted as security. The remaining money I bought clothes for my self, wife and children.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am now a free person because I have paid off a debt, bought a bull, hence I do not stress myself in looking for money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received my cash transfer, I felt so happy because GiveDirectly had fulfilled their promise. I had never received this a mount of money from any body as a grant.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my cash transfer worth UGX 700,000 for paying a debt, I bought a bull worth UGX 500,000 for ploughing. I then bought beddings worth UGX 260,000. I bought clothes worth UGX 100,000 for my children, spouse and myself. I bought two stools worth UGX 40,000. The balance of UGX 100,000ugx, I used for buying food for the family.

When i receive this money, i will use it as capital to start an animal farm.

The happiest part of my day is at night when am going to bed. This relieves me of all the work i have been doing all day.

The biggest hardship i have faced is lack of money to hire or buy land for agriculture.
