My life is different than how it would have been because through the transfers I managed to construct two houses for my children. One was for the girls and the other for the girl I thought of constructing the two because my children are now grown-ups and shared a house with them was taboo according to my community. Also, the dairy cow that I bought will majorly boost my living states. This because soon I am optimistic that I will be the famous milk supper in my region because the bread of the cow I purchased normally produced plenty of litres. Therefore I believe the business shall pick within a short period of time because milk is scarce in my village, therefore, it will be in high demand. I will no longer have to strain in meeting my family's needs like before.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in such a way that, after every transfers sent, one of the officers made a follow up on the same and showed the organisations really cared about us. Also, the money was non-refundable and unconditional I was then asked to choose what to purchase.

I spent part of my second transfer on building materials such as iron sheteets, nails, building poles and timber. I had intended to construct two new houses for my children since the previous one could not accommodate us all. Therefore they were forced to seek shelter at their friend's houses. Also, I paid mason his labour charge of KES 6000. I then cleared school fees for my children who are in primary schools. The remaining amount of money, I bought sufficient foodstuffs for my family.

I received the transfer notification in the afternoon and on checking the contents, it was an Mpesa message informing me that I had received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. I was filled with inexpressible joy since the transfer would enable me to build a decent house.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a decent and iron roofed house to live with my family. My previous house was in a bad state. It was dilapidated and leaking during rains. At such times, I would be forced to seek refuge from my neighbours. My items would be totally in a mess. I am happy now because I managed to buy enough building materials which include iron sheets, building poles and nails to construct the new house.

I spent a bigger portion of the first transfer on buying pieces of iron sheets, nails and building poles to construct a new house. My previous house was in a very bad state. Its roof was dilapidated and leaking uncontrollably whenever it rains. I was sometimes forced to seek refuge from my neighbours at night. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for enabling me to build a nice house to live with my family. I am also planning to pay for the labour cost involved. I spent the remaining portion of the transfer on paying school fees for my children since they were resuming their studies.
