Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before this cash transfer, I depended on casual labour to get some money for buying maize flour for porridge. On bad days, I slept on an empty stomach. However when I got my transfer, I bought food and also repossessed my farm land which my late husband had used as security for the loan. Currently, I am clearing my farm land and I plan to cultivate cassava for food consumption. In addition, I now own a cow and a calf which I never owned before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I felt happy because I got money for buying food since I faced a challenge of food shortage.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my first transfer to purchase a cow and a calf worth UGX 1,000,000, bought household goods ( a blanket, a mattress, utensils and pair of bed sheets) worth UGX 260,000, renovated my thatched house worth UGX 80,000, paid a debt worth UGX 250,000, bought food worth UGX 68,600, paid for transport worth UGX 2500. There is a balance of UGX 30,000 which I have not yet spent but I plan to spend on food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy oxen that will support in my farming activity which inturn will increase food productivity in my home. I Will spend part of this money on food items bacause even as I speak now, I don't have food in the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Evening is always the happiest part of my day especially when I am healthy. I feel happy and stronger to the extent that I can even just dance.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of oxen to support in farming. Being a widow, I have not been able to buy my own because I don't have money. I don't have strength to work as much as I would wish since age is also catching up with me.
