How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received GiveDirectly cash transfer in that, I do not struggle a lot to look for tuition for my children because with this support, there is food security in my household. Before receiving this cash transfer, I used to do a lot of farming and sell part of the produce for paying tuition leaving the family with little food hence famine.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through giving unconditional cash transfer without strings. The cash transfers have enabled community members to build houses, buy animals, to mention. On the other hand, GiveDirectly needs to re-evaluate the amount given because the currency value in Uganda is low and does not match inflation.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
After withdrawing my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,632,000, I have kept it because I am waiting for senior six results such that I would spend it on paying tuition for my child.
