Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the money whilst I was doing piece work at a certain garden, when I got the money alert, I stopped working right away and rushed to my house and showed my wife the message. It was Abit late, and I we agreed to cash it out the next day. I did not sleep the whole night, the night was so long. I remember waking up at 4am just wondering around in the house until it was dawn.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am speechless. I was Avery poor man with no home. My house was one of the bad houses in the village but now it has been rated as one of the best. I used to sleep on a maize sack before, but now I spent my night sleeping on the bed. My night are short because of the comfort and help that GD has given it to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have used the money to buy 12 bags of cement, 2bags of lime, a bed, wireless/radio and 2 bags of maize. I also bought clothes for my wife, myself and children.
