How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, there had been great changes taking place in my life and this had brought me so much joyed and financial freedom. From the day I received my first transfer to date my goal had been investing all my money into various businesses in order to create a long lasting and stable source of income for my family and I. This was opportunity I wished for for so long. Therefore, with my recent transfer, I used a good portion of the money and invested it in my charcoal business in order to increase the productions.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Firstly, I want to shower GiveDirectly with so much praises. I can't imagine my life today without the help of GiveDirectly financial assistance. They have done extremely well for me. Their good deals will never go unnoticed by us. However, in my judgement I have not seen anything wrong done. My thanks and appreciation to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my recent transfer with my goal of becoming self employed and financially independent, I used a good amount of the money and invested it in my charcoal business to increase production now that the demand for coal is getting hard with the raining season. Finally the remaining money was spend on my children's school fees. I am very happy for this great financial opportunity afforded me by GiveDirectly that had changed my life from a jobless woman to self employed and an employer.

No. I don't have any new goals. Things have been a bit difficult. Sometimes to even eat can be hard. I have been struggling to be able to sustain my family. It has not been easy to do so. Our house spoil. I wanted to build a new house but unfortunately, I couldn't due to the lack of money. I was so happy when I received my transfer. I am grateful to God that I got enrolled in this program things will never be the same again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly is not doing anything unwell. GiveDirectly is doing so much good for us. I am out of words. I don't even know how to describe the feeling. I am thankful. I was so overwhelmed when I saw my money. That kind of money I have never seen my entire life. This is so good. With this program, GiveDirectly have given us a brighter future.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My life have been difficult. Things were so hard on me I couldn't afford to eat on time. It is so stressful seeing your life in such condition. Our house have spoiled. The tarsh leaks during the rainy season. Due to financial constraints,I couldn't afford to build a new one or change the roof. I was happy when GiveDirectly came to my village. Getting enrolled on this program is a privilege. I am so grateful. My life will now improve for the better. I used some of my payment to buy a bag of rice. I used the rest to buy few bundles of zinc. Hopefully when I receive the rest I will buy gas to saw planks and pay contractors to build my house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Right now I am one of the happiest person in my village. Since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, the thought of becoming an employer keeps inspiring me to dream more. I never thought about buying fishing net and fishing boat before, but with this new transfer I was able to buy net for fishing. With the fish, I will be able to sell to improve the livelihood of my family even after GiveDirectly leaves our town. I'm also thinking on paying someone to cut enough woods so I can be able to make firecoal for sale. Establishing a coal business coupled with purchasing a fishing boat and net has been my newest goal since I received my second transfer from GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been doing well from the beginning of the program up to today's date. The method used by this integrity Organization in selecting qualified household to benefit from this project is unparalleled. Meanwhile, all the sacrifices and efforts used in reaching out to poor people like us is highly commandable. I am forever grateful for this unique opportunity that has transitioned my life. Finally, I don't see anything that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, most of my recent transfer was spend on purchasing net to start a fishing business that could improve the lives of my family and I. I also used some of the money to buy empty bags for my new coal business. Moreover, portion of my transfer was used to pay someone gather enough wood so that I could produce enough coal. Finally, I used my balance transfer to contract someone build dryer which will enable me dried enough fish for sale. This will provide me the opportunity to expand my fish business to some bigger towns and cities for sale. With this plan I'll have additional source of income to cater to the basic needs of my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
In 2019, I was selling bath soap, tissue and other materials in Monrovia with the intend of generating funds to build my house and send my children to schschol. Out of a sudden, I last everything because buyers were not much and there was less profit. At time when I buy goods it last for more than a week while It is suppose to last for about a day or two. As a result of the slow buying rate, I used the principle to get food for my kids. Due to that, I couldn't continue the business and life began so unbearable for me in Monrovia so I have to move back to Rivercess to find another things to do to support my children. Since I moved to Rivercess, I have engaged into buying fish from the beach and selling them in the communities but it hasn't worked well for me. If I am lucky enough to get this aid from Give Directly, I will use portion of it to build my house because I am currently living in my parents' house and the condition is not good for my family. I will also use part of it to support my children education and use the rest to get food for the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The most exciting news so far is the presence of Give Directly in my town. This NGO has given my so much hope and I'm grateful for that. From your conversation with me, I believe I can stand up again and my dreams will be a reality very soon .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Basically, I am currently facing financial difficulties. My children are out of school, I don't my own place to live and there are so much challenges in getting food for them.
