Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when i received the money because i had never received such a huge amount of money in my whole life. I knew that with such an amount my main problem of not having enough food will greatly be reduced
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is having and eating enough food of choice. We used to eat once, or twice in a day when lucky due to lack of food but now, we even choose what to eat in my 4 member family. Thank you so much Give Directly
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money to buy mattress, 5 bags of maize, a bag of fertilizer, a goat and 9 iron sheets. I also bought clothes for my children and myself

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I a very excited to be in this program by Give Directly. Since my husband died in 2014,things have been very tough for me. I am now looking after my child and extra two grandchildren whose parents are away and do not send any help. We usually struggle to find money for buying food and adequate daily necessities. Since the house am living in was built for my father by the Catholic church,I only aim to find food as am covered on the house part. Whenever am heavily in need, I ask for help from my relatives in another district as well as my child who does casual labour along the nearby lake and brings home either fish and some money. I believe the money will assist me in buying food as that's the main priority. I shall also make sure to buy doors for my house as the current ones are in bad shape. Since our harvest is usually low, I aim to buy extra fertilizer for my garden to improve harvest.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite the problems I face as a person,am still a happy person as am living in my house and with children without struggling to be paying rent. I know these problems of food, money will never end but am still thankful for the gift of life and healthy children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
There are many challenges that I face together with my children. Apart from food, there are few less opportunities available for me to work as many jobs around need strength and good health which I do not have. If I participate in those activities, It means my gardens will suffer as I will be too tired to attend to them. I currently do not have proper bedding such as blankets, mats, mattress among others. I believe with the monet that am about to receive, things will go well for me and my family.
