How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a farmer with five children, two of whom are with me while the other three are away going to school. My goal is to build a decent house for me and my family. I've lived in this thatch hut for over five years. It is time to make a change and with the help of this transfer, I am closer to that change.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, there is nothing I know they don't do well. GiveDirectly has impacted our lives in this community and given us along with our children hope for the future.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have bought zinc nails and paid saw men to supply me with sticks for the house. The remainder is part payment for the builders to start the house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Louise, before GD came, I planned to build a house of my own but could not be realized due to lock of funding. We sleeping in a house that is terribly eaking. When we experience rain in the night, the night will be very terribly, we will have sleepless night, because we have to place tubs and buckets in different places to stop the water flowing through the entire house. My entire life had been farming and my farming have not yield any positive result, even the products sales could not buy us a piece of zinc to cover our heads. I was enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first, second and third transfers. With these transfers, I started to build a house with zinc for my family to sleep in peace when ever there is rain.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I want to take this time to say a very big thanks to Give Directly for services rendered us during the entire enrollment process. In opinion, you was very transparent during the process and your jobs were done excellently. This is first of it kind in Liberia to just see an NGO enrolling villages and giving them unconditional cash.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy three (3) bundles of zinc, wire Niles, zinc Niles, paid people to cut the Sticks and saw some planks to start building my house. I was also able to comfortably buy enough food for my family for the first time in my entire life. Thanks to the entire Give Directly family for the level of support to us that can now enable us to improve our lives from mat to matress.
