How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
From the beginning before the coming of GiveDirectly cash transfer program, I have been planning to build a new house that will accommodate my family and I in the future. Unfortunately due to the hardships I have been facing, I could not afford to generate such amount of money. I was so much excited when I started receiving the transfer from Givedirectly. Through the transfer from Givedirectly, I was able to buy zinc to build a new house and also make my dreams come to reality because I have long been planning for this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Through the help of Givedirectly unconditional cash transfer, I have been able to build myself a new house for me and my family. I am so thankful to GiveDirectly for such amount of money which has seriously improve my life and my family also for a better future. In the sense of what is not done well by GiveDirectly, I have not seen anything.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
For the passed years, I have been suffering so much with my family. I was so excited when I receive my last transfer from Givedirectly. Through the last transfer, I was able to buy zinc for the roofing of my house. The remaining portion of it, I am saving it to sustain me and my family in the future.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving payment from GiveDirectly, I have been desiring to built a new house for my family and I. Presentl, we are living in a very old house that almost all the walls are crumbling down on us and the thatched roof is also leaking badly. Therefore, I used some of my first transfer and bought a bundle of zinc. Now with this recent transfer I also used a portion of the money and bought additional one bundle of zinc. With this, my only goal right now is to continue my house project until I see my dream come to pass. I have not developed any new goal what so ever.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done so much remarkable that some of us this is our first time to received such a huge amount from any one. Their farsightedness towards the needy is so much commendable. I am overjoyed to be one of the beneficiaries of GD program. I will continue to thank and praise GiveDirectly for this financial opportunity. In my thinking GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong in our community or other communities that I have heard.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Because of my desired to change the living place of my family to a new and comfortable one, I used a portion of the money and purchased a bundle of zinc as additional to the first one bundle bought previously to built a new house. Furthermore, I used some of the money and paid someone to cut sticks for the construction. Additionally, the remaining money was spend on buying food stuff for my children and some for the workers. I am very excited and praying for my dream to come to reality.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer was one of the best moments of my life. I was overwhelmed. I don't even know how to describe the way I felt. I was so excited. Money that I didn't do any work for. I have never seen this kind of money my entire life before. Things have been hard on me. I had to move in with my brother. I do fishing for a living. I am grateful for this opportunity. My life will never be the same again.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
One of the biggest differences in my life since I started receiving transfers is that I can now afford my daily meal. Before I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly things were a bit difficult for me. I could hardly afford my daily meal. I had to move in with my brother. Now I am grateful I will be able to build my own house. I wont have to depend on my brother for assistance anymore. With this transfer my life will never be the same again.

I am so thankful to God for this opportunity. This GiveDirectly cash program is an amazing program. I am grateful for it. I was overwhelmed when I received my transfer. Things have been hard on me. What does receiving this money mean to you?
I'm going to build my own shelter when I get this transfer from Givedirectly. I'm in my latter age now and having my own dwelling is a major priority for me. I glad that Givedirectly is promising aid to this my goal.
What is the happiest part of your day?
For the past six months there hasn't been much going on to make me happy. I lost love ones and relatives during this time and these were nothing to be happy about. But I'm glad that Givedirectly visited us today and census me for their cash transfer program.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The current challenge I'm facing now is with me having a dwelling of my own and for my children. My husband died leaving nothing back for my children and I. And this bothers me a lot. That's why I really wanna be able to leave behind something that they will stand on to push further.
