Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited and very happy for the money..It was a relief to my household as it meant that I will finally be able to build a house which has always been a big burden to my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that since I have managed to purchase food we now eat the required amounts in a day. Also, very soon I will be able to own a house which will be more comfortable and spacious..The house I am living in now is so small and unfit for the whole family so it will be a huge relief once I am done building a new house. I can now sleep comfortably as I have good blankets and we also have nice clothes.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the transfer on purchasing building materials such as iron sheets, wires and windowframes as I am planning a new house as the one that I have now is so small and very uncomfortable. The other part of the money was spent on buying 5 bags of maize to top up on the few bags that I already had..I also bought blankets and a few clothes for my children.. I then saved some of the money so that it can be used for paying at a maize mill as well as purchasing small stuff like matches and salt.
