How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because GiveDirectly gave me an opportunity to hold money that I thought I would never get in life. With this cash, I have purchased my cow and food. I have some money that I am still planning for. Keeping money in my house is such a good feeling and I am able to buy any thing I want. Before I received this cash, I never had peace of mind because all I could think of is how to get what to eat.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me money and treat us with good customer care especially in the way they talk to beneficiaries during both home visits and phone interviews. Every thing is good, there is nothing they have done bad so far.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I loaned my sons UGX 830,000 of my second transfer. I have saved UGX 600,000. The balance of the money I used for weeding crops and buying food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have money at hand as previously, I didn't have money at hand, the little money I got could go for my treatment and food, no savings at all. I am also expecting increased yields this time round because I cultivated a larger portion of land with the help of this transfer than before where I dug a smaller portion with my hand tools.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I was overwhelmed by joy because I knew that I had got financial help for farming.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first to purchase a cow at UGX 450,000, food at UGX 200,000, farming at UGX 100,000, paid school fees at UGX 200,000 and paid for my treatment at UGX 50,000. I have not yet spent UGX 700,000 but I plan to spend it later for harvesting my crops and treating my self since I have mental illness.
